ST KITTS and NEVIS
A convoy consisting of the SKNOC-CGA and members of the Women in Sports Commission visited each awardee at her workplace, or agreed meeting point, to honour each with a symbolic pin, a customized face-mask, a bouquet of flowers and a certificate of appreciation. In every instance, the awardees expressed joy at being bestowed with the honour and indicated that it will serve as an inspiration to continue contributing to the development of sport. Chair of the Women in Sports Commission Jennifer Nero noted that International Women’s Day serves as a celebration of women and is also a clarion call for respect and equality.
The awardees were: 1. Tynetta McKoy – Handball, 2. Brenda Allen – Volleyball, 3. Makeda Woods – Football, 4. Diana Palmer – Basketball, 5. Angelisa Freeman- Table Tennis, 6. Thelma Gumbs – Cricket, 7. Roatter Johnson – Athletics, 8. Amanda French-Nanton – Netball, 9. Ludis Saddler- Tennis.
Nominations were based on levels of invaluable performances and expertise and each woman was highly recommended by their respective sporting association.

CANOC Women in Sport will join the rest of the world to celebrate International Women's Day 2021
In the build-up to the day, CANOC Women In Sport Commission will be hosting a Webinar on Sunday 7th March 2021 at 5:00 pm ECT to highlight, honor, and celebrate Caribbean Women in Sport.
Ushering in a month of regional activities, Chair of the CANOC Women In Sport Commission Ms. Annette Knott said, “The theme, ‘We Choose To Challenge‘ is fitting as Caribbean sportswomen will take the lead together to challenge all the inequalities and barriers that still exist for women to take part in sport. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.”
Women in Sport Commissions across the region will be hosting many exciting and impactful events throughout the month of March.
